Re: Book Talk: Twenty Years on the Cape
Most of my conventionals are rather stiff because I tend to use heavier weighing offers. However, I don't like overly long surfrods -- 9-4 max.
But in the evolution of recent years neither Joyce nor I have fished with convench or spinning. The last five years it has all been fly fishing in the estuaries on selected tides at night. We don't go on the beach any more; don't sell fish anymore; and don't use a big camper buggy anymore. My wife turns 80 next week and I am 83. We find the regulations an over-reaction and dislike the way things are. We only kill a bass if it is a bleeder -- maybe one per year. When I want fish, I buy it; keeps my hands clean and my record untarnished.
