"My point about the " sanctuaries " is there is already loads of structure on the bottom. We man have no right to keep dumping our junk in the ocean. If those subway cars where so great then why didn't NY put a load out ???? I'd be willin to bet that not many knew this little tid bit. The subway cars that they thought were environmentally safe are far from it. They weren't made out of marine grade Stainless and have all but eroded away."

Tell those guys dumping railroad cars to send some up here, we need structure here. Theres so little of it around that we are all fishing on top of the same rock or wreck a lot of days, what a pain in the ***, its bumper boats some days- literally.

Gotta disagree with ya there Picker Ole Buddie. I fished a reef off IRI Del in January made outta NYC Redbird Subway Cars. The reef is intact and loaded with fish. Big un's... Small un's.... all sizes!

That Capt wuz happy happy NJ turned down the first load of Redbirds...more fish now than before.

Is that Rec Greed?

I WANT THE TRUTH!!

ps: Better steer clear with the Gobbeler Bent..... unless ya get a discount at the gobbler store.

Give them time that was the last batch put in. I hauled a roof up it was nice to , I would have kept it but I couldn't get her on the boat.

Rat I would doubt that you were at hens and chickens if you were fishing the subway cars. They dumped Tires there and you can see the beach. You may have been at a place called Site # 10. I'm almost sure that is 10 down there but could be wrong. I will find out !

Geeze Picker we gotta disagree again.

1) I never said I was at a Chicken Coop.

2) Not the last batch put in but one of the first. When the NJ Tree Huggers made a stink Govonor Tinker Bell caved and the Subway cars went to Va & DEL. That reef has been there for years and the structure is clearly visable on the scope. The estimated usefull life of those Redbirds is 20+ years.

Gud Fishin too... Very Gud!

Why not just dump the rail cars in the EEZ. Then it would be a sanctuary, right!?

http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/refloc00.htm

15 reef sites covering 25 sq. miles of seafloor. Your right there isn't enough structure.
