Teacher Struck by Lightning at NJ Middle School

The woman was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Published 1 minute ago

A teacher was struck by lightning at an Ocean County, New Jersey middle school Wednesday.
The teacher was on bus duty at Manchester Township Middle School on 2759 Ridgeway Road in Manchester Township when she was struck by lightning, according to police.
The woman was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
While Wednesday?s nor?easter brought snow and wind to most of the region, it also brought rain, lightning and a rare weather phenomenon known as thundersnow to other parts of the area.

There were reports of lightning throughout South Jersey during the day.

we had thundersnow here in Avalon; did not see lightning but with weather it would have been hard to see anyway; made a good decision to come here since we lost power in suburban Phila; got to do some pre-season prep for the start of the season

we offically go 3.2" but more like 5" which compressed/melted down to 3.

there were some concentrated snow bands, Princeton through North Jersey into southern NY etc that were 17"+

one more storm potential coming Sunday/Monday but the track may keep it out to sea.

if not, then it will be another Noreaster.

GFS shows it coming (late Monday shot below):

LOL... at least they admit it, rather than a few really really arrogant weather people down here. One in particular is this young kid who really is a smug you know what.

Claims he hedged everything afterwards, but beforehand lectures you about what is really going to happen and don't believe anyone else blah blah blah.

NWS has the storm veering a bit east again, so looks like the numbers all went down across the region (phi, nyc and albany)... east LI and NE is still in the bullseye.

most looks like it shifted east a bit, but also the scattered yellow are likely what they call those "meso" bands of heavier snow that will set up in a somewhat random fashion.
