well, we aren't that far off, but we are below normal:

for AC: current 38.7F

Depends on where, but pretty much 45. "In the back" is always tide related, and as long as you're not talking about snow/frozen freshwater influence, in general high/outgoing will provide the warmer temps, or a temp taken in the bay where it drains off a mud flat.

"Surf Temps", which some bait shops like to use, can be warmer depending on how the temp is taken.

I just go by official NOAA coastal stations, and you can figure your own local temps from there.

Whatever you prefer, find a station that's near where you want to fish and just follow the temps.

The back of the rb is still 41 and keansburg was 38 you would think that the flats would be warmer but that temp is taken on the outflow of NATCO lakes

The snow affected temps.

The raritan is going to be pumping COLD water for a while from the upstream snowmelt.

Yesterday the air temps at the bayshore were 28 degrees at sunup. That sure doesn't help much!

my concern is that when the temps finally come up and the bite starts, there will be 10,000 guys casting....and that's just at the Hook
