My wife wore eye glasses all her life since she was seven years old. A specialist told her she was a perfect candidate for a set of "restore Lens". Not covered by health insurance she had to shell out $5,000 for the procedure. Thankfully, we had the money. Today, in her high seventies she has not worn glasses for five years. Hunts in the rain/snow, reads, no distance issues, no glasses. Money was/is the ticket.

She laughs and says, "men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses."

In the early 1960s my job was with a defense contractor as a mechanical tech developing the periscope for the Polaris Missle submarine. Our GPS could put us anywhere on earth for dropping an ordinance on a football field half a world away. When a new project came in the older techs got placed on it and I was left on the periscope.

The new research was a gattling gun that could dump many thousands of rounds from a chopper in well under a minute. As a shooter and gun man all my life I was heart broken not to be put on it. A missed opportunity, I left Nortronics soon after and went to a job for which I was not suitable.
