Talk about ski racks. I may have a set here, will see if I can find the key. Does your truck have rain gutters on it?

Thanks for the pics, nice work Tim. That's more or less what I 'm thinking. Yep, truck has rain gutters.

Yes Frank.....I use a HitchHaul on the back. sorry I didn't respond sooner.

As Ed said my Explorer has a 1 1/4 inch receiver. I purchased an adapter that let me get the HitchHaul in 2 inch (in case I ever "move up"). It also extends the clearance between the bumper and the HitchHaul. I can stand between them with the back window up and.....if it wasn't for the tree I backed into last hunting season, there really isn't much wobble.

I'll see if I can find a picture of MY attempt at a homemade roof rack.....something similar to what Jess had but mine was mor "primitive"....

That's the same set up I have on my Cap. A Thule mounting rack, but with Barrecrafter ski racks. Frank already has the roof rack so all he needs is the ski rack. They come with different adapters to fit the existing roof rack.

One of the fine members of Team SSc said he had some old ones buried in his garage, when he gets a chance he'll dig them out....now I'll just need to figure an adapter system to raise them high enough to get the reels off the roof...or figure out how to invert the reels...

Just got the hitch haul...now I need to set that up with some rod holders.

Thanks to all for your thoughts, insights, pics and all that good stuff. Much appreciated.

I made a mistake there. Those are not Thule racks. They are Yakima racks in that picture. That's what I have, too.

Hey Frank check out www.thesurfcaster.com they sell a roof rack that locks and is very nice. I picked one up 3 years ago and love it. The one they show you on the web site is a 2 rod holder but they make a 6 rod holder. Lil pricey but worth it. Tight Lines
