Dodgers center fielder Hernandez went first to third on a steal of second that wound up a hit and run. He got a running jump off first on the pitch. Hernandez got to first on a fielder's choice. Kershaw was on first when Hernandez hit a grounder to second. Not a double play ball. Murphy got the lead runner. I was thinking at the time get the out at first and leave Kershaw out there. He still would have scored on the hit that moved Hernandez to third but maybe the extra effort of running the bases alters a pitch location later.

That is one strategy that makes sense, yet is hard to put into practice. You're drilled on getting the lead runner since childhood, yet thinking about it, getting a pitcher tired would benefit the most!

I really liked the pitching by Matz ...How many runs did he give up ? Wright is in the wrong slot in the line up ....if anything he needs a rest

Dodgers got all 3 in the same inning. With 2 outs. Matz gave up all 3.

yesterday's afternoon game Texas / Toronto was wild .

Just to answer my own question Why Dickey was taking out 1 out shy of getting the win ( his 1st appearnce win ) the game before ..it was to give Price a shot to the win ...which he was win less in post season...baseball can be ugly

I'll miss tonight's game ...out the door by 4am

what about the KC play where the catcher, throwing the ball back to the pitcher, hit the bat of the batter.. ball dribbled out. Live ball!

That's how Beltran got one. Murphy was responsible for all three runs.

I thought Utley got more of that pitch in the 9th inning. It looked like a good swing. He could have been a back breaker, too. Can of corn to right.

here's a thought....Murphy on 3rd with one out; D'Arnaud hits long fly to right going foul; Ethier catches it knowing Murphy will score on sac fly; you have Grienke on mound and batter who has not been hot.....let the ball drop foul and give Grienke another shot for ground ball or strikeout; and Murphy's move to 3rd base was a classic; and DeGrom was so tough; almost half his pitches with men in scoring position and he gives them 2 runs....and Noah from the pen!!! Does he go on Sunday??
