Well when it comes to food; let’s face it, its all been found to be bad for you.

1) Many veggies are packed full of pesticides and/or genetically modified
2) Much of out wild caught seafood is full of pesticides, mercury, hormones (from contraceptive pills) and other heavy metals
3) Aquacultured salmon, oysters, mussels, catfish, and shrimp are full of nasty stuff
4) Our beef and poultry is fed feed that is laced with hormones, and has a good does of salmonella to boot.
5) Even the air we breath and the water we drink has been found to be harmful.

It is amazing our parents survived to produce offspring (us). And that we are not all dead already.

So is the answer to only eat organic? I try to eat, as much as I can, but the cost is so high one would starve unless I hit the lottery.

Sometimes I think that scientists are a bit too much of alarmists. But if they are right....we are in big trouble!

See what you started Surf Cowboy. A perpetual carousel of info. WOW!

CNR, I believe you are as anti-American as they get. You have nothing good to say about anything. Man, I'm glad I'm not you.

Hey, maybe I am, but, you see Picker...

Your facts state that they are allowed 20 fish per week...BUT..

YOU DON'T STATE HOW BIG THOSE FISH HAVE TO BE...
( You know, what's preventing these guys from dumping 20 smaller fish when they catch 20 BIGGER fish?)

Now Picker, if they were allowed X amount of pounds....it wouldn't make a difference.

LBS are LBS picker, and 20 fish can be LARGE or small...

Keep trying Picker....tic...toc...your fishing industry is on limited time....

Some very good points are made by some of you above, about pollution etc...etc...

I never stated that the whole problem is caused by comms alone...recs have a big part of the blame to share, along with the $$$$ grabbing, non-caring politicos..etc...etc..etc..

You know Tuck ...you prove my point over, a thousand times...

You, WE, the USA, don't understand CRAP...

Another 9 Americans dead....

We consumme ..what 60%...of the world's resources...

No wonder everybody hates us...

You like what is coming out about us unilateraly going to war without cause....yea..I hate saddam...but we went to war, and young Americans are dying because of lies by rich, and people that led you and many others by the nose...

Refute that...

I love the USA...we are not the world, and we are far from perfect...

All I can promise is that I'll have plenty of Bunker for those brave solders . If it wasn't for them we might not have the right to fish . We might be told what to do by some dictator . Again thank you for keeping us safe and free . Come back soon !!!!!

I'm not actually taking anyone's side here but arguing in circles without the facts seems like a waste of time.

PS: Since Friday only 9 more people have looked at that post!

Pretty amazing that the true facts regarding C&R release mortality have never really come up in all the arguing and finger pointing that has been going on since the "NC pics" have been circulating around the net.
Hey C&R, I am really sorry to hear you are going thru some tough times.I hope the New Year brings you better times and bigger fish.

PH- I apologize for this late info as I had trouble relocating it. I wanted to post this a couple of days ago but couldn't find. Your post above made me look harder.

From the Garden State Seafood Association and my friend Nils Stolpe: A little dated but interesting Rec C&R and mortality numbers:
