3/30 - plugs pre-dawn, nothing. Chunked 2.5 hours, nothing. North side of Raritan Bay.
3/31 - fly fished 3 hours, nothing.

I sense a trend.

The bay is loaded with bass, but they are not spending much time within casting distance of land.

Yet.

That will change any day now. I will continue plugging away. I have never seen so many large bass being caught in the Bay this early.

Happy tomorrow these big girls get a second chance at life. Support thise bellies, a Quick photo and a proper revival release can only help what they are trying to protect.

Dont get me wrong, catch em and eat em, I do but let's do out part to ensure they make it to spawn.

Remember, the new regs start tomorrow.

Great point; protect the fish now or have quiet lonely days on the beach tomorrow; NJ finally got the point about keepers being slot fish; lets all do what we can to protect what we have; respect your opponent and get them back in the water quickly and safely,,,love to fight another day

Hit a southern Monmouth county beach last week with a friend who was dunking clams. He got 3 on the clams. I got 2 one on a small rubber shad and the other on a bone mag darter. Nothing over 25 inches. Going to try for some trout this afternoon
