Default ARod

I am well documented in my conservative praise for Arod. I didnt think he was MVP last year and I have questioned the less than favorable effect he has on the teams he has played for in the MLB.

But the booing and the treatment he is getting in NY is a little over the top, dont you think? Who (except for Mike Lowell) do they want to replace him even with his k's and 18 errors.

I love the Knoblauch comparisons, those two arent even in the same planet as far as "yips" or production.

Whats everyones take?

Alex Rodriguez is just fine. Look at his numbers overall. New York City is a crazy place sometimes. You screw up, they let you know it quick. All can be forgotten after one nice timely swing of the bat though. Yah gotta love baseball!

Happy Birthday AROD!!!!

ARod will be just fine... and with The Tex Ranger paying half his salary it would be nutz to trade him. Even Jeeter got the Bronx cheer last year when he was slumping. NY is a tough place to play, but the fans come out and fill the stadium every home game. Besides NY & Boston not many markets have that kind of fan support.

I think the Yankee fans that are booing Arod are the Yankee fans who became fans in the mid to late 90's. I am a true diehard Yankee fan and have been since I was a kid. I would never boo anybody on my team no matter how bad he is doing. These are the guys that management went out and got and I will root for them no matter what. I think that Yankee fans should cheer him and give him a confidence boost instead of trying to drag him down. Geez they are acting like he is Ed Whitson or Rondell White.

Re: Just another reason to hate Terrell Owens...
You said the Eagles will finish ahead of the Cowboys according to your thinking. I think not. The Cowboys will finish ahead of the Eagles. If you want to bet on that you got a bet. By the way who Is McNabb going to throw to this year?

Re: Mets fans.......
Braves will keep with them. Don't worry about the freakin' Phils>>that dope (the hillbilly) from Mayberry Charlie Manuel with single handedly bury them as he has tried already. Is there a more stupid person in baseball out there? I like what the METS have done this year.

If it is anything like your Braves prediction this will be the easiest 200 ever.

he's done a lot, but frankly I couldn't care less whether he gets booed or not...
I gave up caring about fickle fans reactions way back when Mets fans
booed the Grande Orange in a game I attended many many years ago, then cheered the same when he did something good. That game, and many since, turned me into a baseball (and sports) enthusiast, not a FANatic.
I don't identify myself as a fan, just enjoy going to and watching games.

Another take on booing is to just play up to it like WWF, heck, he's getting paid millions to PLAY A GAME. So, all of these guys need to get over it, just entertain (which is what they do) and keep on keeping on.

but that's just me

I love A-Rod and I have faith he'll bounce back. The guy has done amazing since he came into the majors. The guy has this massive contract over his head & the pressure of our loving fans in NY. He doesn't need to be traded to get his game back. That's plain crap if you ask me. Look back in history and don't even tell me that there aren't stars that haven't had worse slumps than this.
