Raritan Bay - first trip 2017
Another spectacularly inaccurate noaa forecast had us fishing in 15 to 20 knot winds this morning. More importantly, it was my first trip of the year on the boat and everything seems to be good. New water pump, thermostats, fuel filters, leaning post seat (home made), all lights functioning, new battery, re-wired power to fish finder, etc.
But a few more items left to do - new sender for fuel gauge, take a look at the tach that's acting flakey, and install the cool LED lighting strips I got.
This is year 13 with this boat - it's been good to me.
So I heard the wind in the trees 4:30 this morning, but went anyway. Bunker were tough but we got enough to fish. I wanted to minimize the butt-kicking we were going to get on the water, so I stayed fairly close to the beach and me & the brofessor had a bunch of bluefish in 15 feet of water.
No bass, but it was fun bending the rods and getting the boat bloody.

Steve,
It wasn't me... user "peterlan" was the post you edited ??!
edit: ok, so this user's spam bumped up the thread, and I (not realizing it was a spam-bump) just replied.

Copy that
How about blackfishing with me this fall???
I go on weekday afternoons for 2-3 hours, all little spots close by.
Good action with the occasional 8-pounder
