Do you have enough clams left over to make a good chowdah? What could be better on a cold snowy day........Oh........maybe pork roll, egg and cheese

The beaches are actually looking pretty good down this way. Points reaching close to bar and deep coves in between . Now we just need fish

alright Don, quiz time: where you throwing your clam in that pic?
(and what conditions) (( edit: ok, expand to "bait" or "plug" for those anti-clam folks among us ))

that's actually a good pic for a surfcasting 101 discussion (already done on a couple of other sites, not to mention the articles here on ssc, but just sayin')

Bait is too stinky
I'd prefer to bounce a BT or shad off the bar into the deeper cove.

Went out last night, found some schoolies, biggest going 26" and tons of bunker, was surprised in how productive the outing was considering the tide and moon. The bass would only hit the small mag darter, thought I broke my curse with rubber shads but only foul hooked a bunker. The curse continues!!!

I was in the back, way in the back, up north, targeting creek mouths. The amount of bunker was ridiculous, had schools slamming into me and feeding, but the bass weren't on them, seems they were on smaller silversides perhaps, I took a picture of one I grabbed, I'll upload it when I get a chance. But, creek mouths and then throwing into the current and the bass were just waiting.

Did the pier thing today, lotta bait stealers and I did not have
a lot of gear with me so just fished bait ( squid and shrimp)

Fantastic pier here with bait cleaning stations and water .

Caught some filefish and what they call a chub ( pompano looking fish that I was told was
very smelly and not a lot of folks want them ) so I threw it back. Caught a few more
Tropical type fish and called it a day. With the right setups this pier is a gem.

Surf fishing tomorrow early if I can get up, saw some cruisers along the beach from the pier and well I hope a few show up hungry tomorrow.

( oh yeah, this is near boca raton )

I could definitely get used to it

It's like staring down into an aquarium watching schools of small
Albie's cruising hitting bait, some other bigger fish, schools and schools of small tropical
And then you get target gamefish coming in ...
