Just got back from the beach which included howling NE winds, heavy rain, thunder and lightning (that is why I left), and two bass 15 and 9 pounds in 20 minutes. Perfect conditions for bass
. The water looked fiesty and rough but the bass were in tight. I got them on the 6" Tsunami shad. If the lightning wasn't there I wouldn't be typing this right now, if it stops I will head back out for more fun in the sun...uhh I mean rain.
On that note I am off to fish the greatest fishing island for surfcasters and stripers on the coast...no not Long Island...Cuttyhunk. I will be going with a few very good fellows and surfcasters it should be an unbelievably good experience. I have had some outstanding reports from a friend that returned yesterday. The reports were as good as they can get.
My strategy will be fish eels until they run out, then Slug-Go's #2, and then my favorite woods, swimmers and poppers.
I'll check in with you upon my return.
