Default DE river stripers yet? Too early?

Hello
I know every year is a bit different and water level and temps proabably have something to do with it. Looking to get out and play w/ some early stripers next weekend. Anyone heard anthing yet? Too early to waste the fuel and $$$ on blood worms?
Thanks!
JD
