ok, the next storm will likely be mostly rain for our region, snow north.

BUT the last 3 storms have veered more eastward than predicted by GFS and Euro, so in my non-meteorological mind, this one might as well.

If so, THAT would bring us MORE snow, even down here in dixie.

Let's hope the models get it right for once.

That's not nice Rob, not nice.

I'm about ready to do some early-season recon. A little warmth would be welcome.

My fears have come about.

NWS just bumped the Philly to NYC corridor up to 10"+

The southern shore (say below LBI) is still around 5-6"

BUT more flooding for shore towns than last 3 storms, due to prolonged
east winds (36-48 hrs) without a west shift like the previous storms.

(Joe, you're spared this mess... truly a coastal storm
BUT you'da been hit if you were in Bahston )

It depends, "probably 4-8" for most

There will be a few spots that might get 10+ but very unlikely due to the time of year and temps.

Right along the coast it should be more rain, so lower amounts say 1-3"

However, the big jump was that the 2 low pressure systems that "they" were predicting would stay separate, actually merged (phased) and bumped all the periods of continuous snow up. The bigger "low" pulls in more cold air, which is needed right now to produce the snowfall.

Normal models use a 10:1 ratio of snow to rain... 10" of snow for every 1" of rain, but few actually take in the time of year, which impacts the amount that really accumulates.

now folks north (lower part of this map) are actually going to GET (edit: make that "likely" to get) that amount of snow

We've had snow for about the last 1/2 hour here, not sticking yet. Wind ENE 18-20mph. At this point I'd rather have the snow, our yard has been a lake since end of January.

Don, you might get more of a lake and some 60+ winds later.
