Inlet or around any of the jetties

If you stop in at OneStop Bait and Tackle, Noel will give you the scoop

if you are staying on the boardwalk, then walk down and fish around the piers, move around but you will find fish.

just don't feed the bums.

Ocean went from washing machine to Lake Atlantic over night. No fish for me this morning but I did get these. That's not a skunk in my book

Don, I think you need to throw some of them back to polish up a little more.

Joe....listen to Rob and check with the tackle shop. They will suggest where to go and this being Atlantic City and tough area they will tell you where NOT to go

if you stay along the boards, or go up to the T jetty at the inlet (or adjacent sand), you'll be fine. AC, in spite of it's reputation, is not death-a-day Philly.

but Noel @ OneStop enjoys burning any spot he knows of ( ) but is seriously a nice guy and tries to help anyone out in finding a good place to fish.

I'm going for a tree conference they've had there at one of the casinos for the last few years. I've yet to drop one nickel at their gambling opportunities. It kind of grosses me out. ...but to each their own.
Thanks for all the good recommendations, and I will visit with Joel @ 1Stop and let you all know what develops.

well Bass, early December mornings on the beach in Long Branch get you ready for anything; 5 Jacks in 15 min this morning on metal then stopped cold; was about full low tide when it quit so I'm guessing the rules are the same everywhere

Fish are fish, Bill. All operate on tides, current and bait movement.

I forget.

Seriously, I'm reminded every spring when I'm again thinking about the fishing I'm missing out on due to {fill in the reasons} that every fishery on the east coast goes crazy in May, both salt and fresh. All tied to the same notions.

Not that you need any more reminders, but a great book for all anglers is
Orvis Guide to Fly Fishing for Coastal Gamefish

(hey, I know no one really wants to read this but I'm on a roll... go with it )

"Marine researcher Aaron Adams shares his knowledge about sea grass, mangroves, salt marshes, oyster bars, shorelines, beaches, sand flats, and coral reefs from the Caribbean to the Carolinas, the Gulf of Mexico to the Florida coast, to give readers what they need to know to fish for tropical, subtropical, and warm-water species"

This author does a fantastic job describing the ecosystems, bait and predator movements in such a way that you can apply it anywhere. For me, I keep learning more (uh, when I can actually get out to learn) about our unique-to-new-jersey south jersey marsh ecosystems as we lean slightly more southern, than northern in structure and species. (as do our politics and backwoods-descended-from-the-hillbillies residents)

I can say I have friends whose familes were Loyalists in the revolution.

Aside from that, there are serious hillbilly ties anong the clammies and pinies down here.
