Fun time playing C&R with the fly rods on mixed size bluefish last Friday with Ed, Pete, and Charlie from Coastal Fly Rodders.

Saturday's was blowing hard North East and we decided to give it a shot in the bay but we just couldn't get past the bluefish.

30 Spros for $100...thanks for the heads up...can't replicate the small hook gap in the longer shank for fluking as Gamikatsu will not sell those hooks to the public (they own Spro).

Gulp is also 4 bags for $20 plus there is a $10 mail-in rebate.

Moco Outfront Afternoon. Incoming to the top. Two foot swell with a shore break SE wind. I was on the fly, but there was a strong right to left sweep that maid it difficult to keep intermediate line from lifting, and the fly in the strike zone. Caught one 12 inch striped one on the chartreuse/white clouser. No bait fish observed.

Moco out front. Top of the afternoon tide turning to ebb. One bass maybe 24" took a white bucktail. Had a couple of short quick missed guys and lost one during the fight. I think that one was a fluke though. Nice night out
There was a guy on the fly that was fishing next to me when I landed that bass. Was that you yard dog?

BB, I was there from 4pm to 6pm, and had to leave just as the tide was topping out. There was only one other, but he was bait fishing. Nice fish. The water did look good as I was leaving. Nice catching! YD

Bay, I was watching princess piping plover at work yesterday pounding the signs into the sand. She was enjoying her work.
