That's because you're using the wrong one!

I believe a Clouser tied with hackle, whether Flatwing or Deceiver style, is considered a 1/2 and 1/2.

John, that is wayyy too many treables hanging there. If a bluefish gets ahold of that, your going to have to cut its head off to get it back.

I got out tonight for a few hrs, 4-9. Not a tap till the sun went down then managed 4 shorts. They wouldn?t touch anything but the 4? magdarter. Yes, I threw the glider

I got out on the RB yesterday around noon with my son. We threw lots of stuff and didn't see any keepers. We did encounter 3 shorts from a micro (~15") to schoolies in the low to mid 20 inch range.

No joy on plugs at all. We did better on a bucktail / curlytail and teaser, with 2 of 3 fish on the teaser.

... I'm still wishing I could get out there some late afternoon / evening and witness how someone who knows what they're doing does it. Maybe for next week?

Bay,
Here is an image of an original half and half tied by Bob Clouser:
He designed the fly to imitate a larger baitfish.
Hope that helps.

That should do the job, Bay!

Ahh, no! lol

Me and a friend both fishing gliders at the same time, catching fish simultaneously.

I don't fish a teaser in the spring as it doesn't match the bait profile and pulls too many small fish. This time of year I want to focus exclusively on those fish that are eating bunker even if it means getting skunked
