Bill, you must realize that you're playing the surf fishing equivalent of washing your car to make it rain.

It looks like NE or NNE winds in the upper teens all week. What are you going to do? Throw 2 or 3 oz bucktails or heavy metal? I don't think that the fish will be put off as much as the surf fishermen, maybe. I've had good fishing with that wind in my teeth.

If the water remains relatively clean, then anything you can throw out there could work. Tons of bait off the beach, and it gets pushed in to the surf. You could have blitz conditions, though it's a bit early for anything big.

Walked out to the rip today. Lots of snappers and bait, then mid afternoon the Choppers arrived. I saw at least 15 on the beach from 24 to 35 inches. First I've seen the big ones this fall. I have some nice snappers for dinner and caught some good size Hickory Shad. My only Chopper twisted off my little snapper spoon in the rip... A fine day. Here's to tight lines!

Big Choppers in the surf today at the hook. Large pod or pods of porpoises swimming and feeding at buoy distance tended to correspond with the Choppers. I think perhaps they were 'herding' bait closer to shore and the big blues were eating it up....

I'm going to stop by the Hook on my way home this afternoon.
Maybe the choppers will come back with their striped cousins.

Skunk for me tonight, and the other 8 guys lined up. Even the dolphins didn?t stick around too long. Finally met up with Joseph after all these months of pm?s, he probably thought I was fake news.

If by fake news you mean "Legend" - yes! for sure!

I'm so sorry that you couldn't tell me that "Oh, man! You should have stayed! Half an hour after you left it was a massive blitz!"

Regarding dolphins, I saw a pod surfing the bow wave of an outbound freighter yesterday. So cool!
