Default Non Slip Loop - Bite Leaders

Looking for some advice on the ideal loop knot to tie in a 50# bite leader (loop for the streamer/fly). I have been trying the non slip loop, but it's kind of difficult b/c of the stiffness of the 50#. Maybe 50# is too much?...or is there a better loop knot out there for bite leaders...?

You could try a Buffer Loop knot or a Surgeon Loop.

I tie my loops with a knot that I don't know the name of. It is kind of a cross between a Bowline and the Buffer Loop Knot. Basically I start with a granny knot, and then tie a bowline in that. The granny knot substitutes for the "6" that you make when starting a traditional bowline. I don't know if that makes any sense. I have used this on up to 40# mono. I have never found the need for any heavier line.
