Default east wind PLUM ISLAND

Hey guys....I fish the refuge a ton in October.....I live in Maine so it's a little drive....but usually worth it! Anyhoo.....I was thinking of coming down tommorow AM.....but the forcast is iffy.....3-5 foot seas and wind 20-25 out of the East....I beleive that puts the wind right in my face. My question is: Do you think it's worth the drive down in those winds? I have been down to the parking lots many a time only to find the conditions un-fishable.....I really want to get down there in the AM!!!!!!!!! Let me know what y'all think.....thanks in advance

We just got home and it was beautiful on Monday.
Saturday and Sunday had east winds and it brought in the nastiest weed I have ever seen.
It was totally unfishable.
It also brought in this jelly like organism called salps.
Big article on it in yesterdays globe.
I cut my line twice before I gave up.
The weed was a nasty gray fiberous substance and impossible to clean off.
There were fish in the waves but mostly smalls.
We got one keeper on Monday.
We were holding with 5/0 in the east wind.
All I can say is you can't catch them from the couch.
If I had the day off I would be there, wind or not.

I was there today and with the wind in my face did ok from 5am to 8:30am
the wind should blow the bait close to shore, bring a casting rod because there has been some insane blitz fishing in the morning and then at dusk, Good luck.

I hope that weed doesn't come back.
It's going to be cold out there this weekend but, the
water is still warm.
Talked to Kay and she said even with the east wind
there were lots of fish caught at the top of the tide.
