This was my 2007 SB plugbuilders contest entry.
I call it POD.Its a little over 4oz.

Amazing Eric! Looks like it might be easier to cast than your bunker head from last year... BTW, did you ever fish that?

Plug is only 4oz. Its sealed weighted, and ready to fish.

STRIPERNIGHT, that was the first plug I saw, when we went to the table. I got a pic of it. glad to know it was yours. fantastic work. wish I knew you were there, JOHN was helping me put faces together so I could talk to guys.

That's incredable.Nice job.I know you've said in the past you'll take days or even weeks working on a plug.Just curious,how many man hours went into this one.

A rare glimpse into my style:
It spent a long time like this on my bench. Almost 2 years.
Once I become inspired I pick it up and start working on it.


I work on most stuff on an on and off basis. Hard to track my time.
Overall for the most part it took like 2 weeks to complete.
The carving was quick. The foil was long because I hate the seems
foil creates and I scratched in the scales.
I use a hairdryer to dry the paint now so I can apply as many colors as I want very fast. I use about 18-20 colors. Looking back at this pick I stayed pretty close to my idea drawing.
I chose to remove the 9th horizontal fish because I wanted the overall
lure to have a more "fish" profile.
