Default Re: north myrtle beach

Sound striper season is suppose to open October 1st. Scattered bigger size stripers will start to show up in the surf in October and should be schooling up in the ocean by the Thanksgiving holiday...
The trout and puppy drum fishing will continue to improve as more finger mullet move out the inlets and into the surf. Some big red drum are being caught at the inlets and beaches around them...

cut baits like mullet on a carolina rig will get the stripers, and blues...and the reds have been working with shrimp as well as cut bait...of course metal will work with blues and bright jigs are good for cobia and have even gotten some reds...
(if you fly fish...shrimp patterns are good and clousers have been doing well)
if you can snag some of the manhaden you can cut them and use them just as effective as the mullet...the shrimp may also produce some grey and speckled trout...
