a 40 year old+ QB no longer wants to be laid out by a 350lb tackle

most in or around that age get the yips with a big pass rush.

even with the QB-friendly rules, you are not lasting long at that age if you keep getting tackled.

That doesn't mean there should be two sets of football protocols: young guys and old guys. Ever notice how other defense dance around Brady like he was eggs? Other QBs on other teams get hammered by defense.

Keep your eye on this new 24 year old, Patrick Mahomes. plays for Kansas City. He is mobile and is a new "Brady". Huge potential! And he is not fragile.

We'll see how Mahomes holds up, but as of now, he shows special talent!

Coach Andy Reid had been both loved and criticized during his tenure at Philly, but from all reports is a good guy, had some tough family issues... so I'm pulling for KC this year.

BTW read a very good bio on Brady somewhere, really gave a history of his underdog status basically his entire career up to and include breaking in with the Pats. Good read if you find it.

Still doesn't mean I like Brady, however.

I too don't like too much hero worship. He is a good QB but frankly I'm a little tired of Brady, Brady, Brady -- the golden boy of the Pats. The press has overdone his coverage just like everything else they do.

Those of you who are tired of my bitching about the press, please note that I am not the only one. More and more readers are gagging on one sided news coverage and lazy journalism. Sure, I write a lot of stories but I only do a piece ONCE.

I have been telling you to watch Patrick Mahomes. Now he is going to the Super Bowl where you will get to see him lead Kansas City. Just pay more attention to Mister Smarty's advice and put your money on he and Kansas.

Like Mahomes a lot. We'll see if the KC defense can hold up.

Mahomes and Garapolo are, outside of Brady, the two hottest QBs in football. It is fortuidus to see them going against each other in the SuperBowl.

Should be a good game, but I think Mahomes has outshone Garapolo, by opportunity if not in actual skill. I think G has made about 14 passes in 2 games, something like that

Mahomes, besides his canon of an arm, made a signature run in the last game. He doesn't run for the sake of running, but does so when he sees the opening. I like him.

A LOT.

I'm not sure they can stop the 49'ers running game...

I have been watching the Pats so closely for so long that I don't know anything about the other teams.

It's still the same as it was Frank except the rest of the NFL doesn't cheat or at least get caught at it.
