Cool 2020 Winter Storm Thread

ok, a bit lame, and a "South Jersey Special", but the first measurable snow of the year is forecast for tonight:

It was a dark and stormy night...
...and was enough to have me a little tensed up on my drive home from the beach. Fortunately, roads were still so warm it never got to the point where the salt even mattered.

The storm has shifted several times, but looks like its going to be mostly snow/rain mix with a fairly quick changeover to rain, so not much for most of NJ at all for this weekend. Upper elevations are going to be late shifting to rain, if at all, so ... go skiing

However, in general the pattern has shifted so the ultra warm weather seems to be gone until later in Feb

We'll get it this afternoon and eve. SNOW.
I was just contemplating bringing my snow shovels to the dump this AM. Better hang on to them a bit longer...

Milk and Bread, it happens all the time up here even though the Northeast should be used to it. . My wife and I just wait until the storm is at max,,,,, then go to the M/T market.
Figure I have to use the 4WD for something, being it never sees sand much anymore.

btw, forecast hasn't changed much, except that down here in dixie, we are basically going to get a shot of flurries, a couple of passing showers this evening, and that's it.

Well this is shaping up to be one of the most boring winters on record, if this keeps up.

Nothing in the 10 day, our first coastal storm is really going too far off the coast (and no cold air in place regardless) to do anything other than a little mixed precip for early Saturday morning, toward the South East portion of the Grand State of South Jersey.

Then it's off to fw for me next week, if possible.

that's the story of the winter, except down here it's rain to rain, or rain to rain.

60 to 39 to 60 to 42 to 60 to ....

No big blocking ridges in the East or West to direct the normal storm tracks, virtually no coastal storms coming close, so it's a big blah with a few coldish clippers coming in from time to time.
