I just crossed CWB off my list. Spot burning should be made illegal!!! It is not fair to those of us who really fish, as opposed to chase.

These locations really do get out of hand.

Nah, don't fish there anymore so don't care No edit...maybe if they put up a map or directions

Unless you mean mine since I admitted to drown clams for the overgrown goldfish

I won't edit "spot posts" as upper management seems to allow it. I figure all specific spot metioning should be kept to the Insider section.

Capt Ben,
I'm sure that Maine is a LOT less populated than New Jersey, thus less likely to have a problem with crowded spots. It is a topic that comes up here every year, and people that fish here in NJ have strong opinions on it,in both camps. If you feel the need to remove the link from your website, please do so.And,no it is not a site of little kids, and I think most of the people that post here would take offense to that, especially posted by someone who joined just a couple weeks ago.

Do you mean If some catchs a 50lbs.+ bass off the Francis Road jetty in Calno NJ and post the location the next day, their wont be 5 or 6 more to be caught off that same spot, news to me. (I do bet their would be 50+ people their once word got out saying someone caught a big fish right their so their has to be more.) If your spot gets burned it does suck, but once the googans desend and scare all the fish away and they leave because "someone must have lied to them theirs no fish here" the fish and the regulars who catch them will return.

Row4fun,
Thats the point.People take fishing reports, which are history, not real time as gospel. They are the googans, dillydocks, pilgrims, whatever you decide to call them. That goes for the cell phone guys.By the time their buddy calls them, and they get there, the blitz is over.Sure, reports are going to increase participation at a "spot" mentioned, but the only ones who will benefit are the ones who fish there regularly,at least in my opinion.

Capt... THIS AIN'T MAINE

My problem is with all the crap people leave behind. You should see/hear the messs and noise for your own eyes and ears.

I've clean up people crap, just to return hour later to find 2x more.

I once preached the same thing as Capt. Plenty of beach to fish, and it's not all about catching. But the internet really has changed things here in NJ.

So true. Fishing reports are just that, a report. I liken them to a one day sale, where the masses show up to reap the benefits. Next day, the sale is over, and we all go about our business, minus the throngs of one time buyers.

mind you outing before last i walked off the beach with 4 boxes of worms that had JUST been left behind by some scum...

oh & capt.. that's quite easy for you to say when you have the convenience of moving to another "prime" spot in minutes. many people drive (some for many hours) set up shop, get comfortable, catch a fish & get invaded by ignorance. i see you run offshore charters... how do you like it when a guy comes & anchors up in you're slick after you've been chunkin' for hours?? ever have a guy tie off to your anchor line & do that?? or what if you're trolling for tuna, do you enjoy having another boat come over & tangle the lines on your outriggers?

You have to understand.
These are very small areas, not your typical beaches, usually in residential area (aka) someones back yard.

Someone please take a picture this weekend so those who don't understand will have a better idea.
