Default Fishin the Ditch with Current and flow

I still have not figured out how to fish the Ditch during periods of current and flow going on, I am casting like 3 ounces out there and then let it settle to the bottom and trying to jig a bucktail, Ron Z or Bill Hurley Slug O and slowly bringing it in but I keep getting it hung up on weeds, kelp or the bottom. Maybe I should forget reeling in an artificial and throw out the reel deal, real thing a live eel and let it swim around the obstacles?

Keep trying. The canal is no instant gratification spot thats for sure. Look closely at what your doing there and change it because if your getting mucked up your doing something wrong. I have a few pointed ronz heads that are blunt from bumping them there. Yes live eels will work if you actually use them. Dead ones affixed to a jig work as well.
