Arrow New Forum with 2 Expert Mods!

The off season is a good time to start a new forum, especially this one since buying a new 4 x 4 or rigging one up takes considerable time.

Two expert truck and auto guys have volunteered to moderate this forum, Jess Pierce and Bob "Wildbob" DeLeonard. Both gentlemen are members of "NJBBA," NJ Beach Buggy Association. Actually Bob was the President of NJBBA for many years and currently is Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Hopefully Jess and Bob will "steer" us in the right direction or at least help people avoid this type of catastrophe.

Thumbs up Re: New Forum with 2 Expert Mods!

This forum is a long time coming.

I know when I have a problem with my Jeep, Jess is the first that gets a question sent at him.

And Wildbob, this man Knows sand, LOL, in a broader base, He knows about responsible beach driving and usage.

Giddy-up Boys.....

That picture is a good starting point. I don't recommend tow chains as part of your safety equipment. I recommend tow straps. A chain is only as good as the weakest link and is rigid. This puts more strain on both vehicles involved. A strap will stretch and recoil to help launch the stuck vehicle out. If you ever use a chain, hang a blanket or jacket over it. If it snaps, it won't fly.

Another HUGE mistake I didn't notice earlier. Always hook up to something solid. This good Samaritan is about to get a rod rack through his window.

If he had to wade in the water to hook up to the rack, why not hook up to the towing hook to the left of the rack? Joe.

Great idea for a new forum. Winter seems to be moving slowly this year.

I like the drop off on that beach! Leave the jeep in there and even i could find some structure to fish on!

That buggy would have served more use as an artificial reef at that point.
