Default I've got a few ideas...

For 2 or 3 truck/buggy products that could be used for the transportation of rods/reels... Don't wanna give away my ideas though!!

Would anyone purchase a product that required no drilling or bolting to your truck, yet would securely hold 10 rods of any size if it were available?

Security for the equipment is a growing concern.
Easy to install would be a winner for sure.

See if you can get it patented. Type "patents and trademarks" in your address bar and see what applies.

I have looked into it a little so far, but I don't have anything actually constructed yet. Just designed and whatnot. The finished 'prototype' should be done in January, for my own personal use.

The patenting process seems to be extremely long, but it may be worth it. I have a feeling there would be a market for this product, at least in my local area.

patents protect your idea...you dont need a prototype. Seriously look into it because it would suck to see your idea making someone else rich.

take pictures, or drawings of your idea and explain the details of it. then put it in an envelope and mail it to yourself. the postmark ink on the envelope dosent lie about the date and if someone trys to patent it later, you can prove its your idea by having judge judy open it in a court room?
