Question Dennis Port Fishing

Heading to D.P. Cape Cod for vacation in the middle of August. It will be my first time fishing in that area. Just woundering if the Stripers will be active in that location during that time period. If so what to use for bait and an locations to target. Don't want your secret spot, just a point in the right direction. Thanks for the help. Tight Lines and Blessings

August is pretty pretty slow for stripers around the Cape. Even now in mid July they are only a nighttime phenomena . My kids managed to catch four on plugs last night in the surf on Nantucket, but I suspect action will tail off substantially by August. More likely you'll find fun with blues. Come back in late September if you want bass.

Thanks for the reply. I plan on bringing my bait stick and lure rods. So you say blues may be the main target? Really hoping to catch acouple of stripers for the table. We'll see. Leaving for Dennis Port Next Sat. Should be a great week of vacation. Any spots to target? Tight Lines

Dida little research. Looking like bass river and herring river will be my first two targets, and then the jeddies inbetween. High tide tiimes looks to be ideal. Wish me luck. Thinking about starting with sluggos and irons, then bait. Tight lines

Been at for the past couple of days. Put in close to 5 to 6 hrs of fishing in total. So far landed andlost 20 or so snapper blues, one 5 foot leopord shark, and one keeper fluke. The shark and fluke both hit the snapper blues. Caught the little blues off of a gold cast master. Having live bait really help. Wished I had an airator to keep the blues alive
