Do you have enough clams left over to make a good chowdah? What could be better on a cold snowy day........Oh........maybe pork roll, egg and cheese

The beaches are actually looking pretty good down this way. Points reaching close to bar and deep coves in between . Now we just need fish

alright Don, quiz time: where you throwing your clam in that pic?
(and what conditions) (( edit: ok, expand to "bait" or "plug" for those anti-clam folks among us ))

that's actually a good pic for a surfcasting 101 discussion (already done on a couple of other sites, not to mention the articles here on ssc, but just sayin')

Bait is too stinky
I'd prefer to bounce a BT or shad off the bar into the deeper cove.

This may be naive, but have you ever thought about using flexible wire for the teaser dropper?

Show me a pic, I can't picture this. 30lb Fluor on a twisted dropper is just fine for me

Rio Powerflex comes in 20, 30 and 40 lb. and you can knot it. Personally, I typically use 20 or 30 lb fluoro and if you have a "quick release", so be it. I don't want the blues, unless it's music, anyway...heh heh

problem really only comes if the gators are thick, then you wind up having a quick release with multiple relatively expensive lures, in addition to your cheap teasers.

lose $60 in a few minutes to the big nasties and, well, you'll feel like you're in Atlantic City, only better off.

Went out last night, found some schoolies, biggest going 26" and tons of bunker, was surprised in how productive the outing was considering the tide and moon. The bass would only hit the small mag darter, thought I broke my curse with rubber shads but only foul hooked a bunker. The curse continues!!!
