We finished up the work on the boat Saturday morning and then went out on an exploratory trip aboard LockJaw. The wind was howling out of the North West made it difficult to feel the light hits!

We landed 17 bass in a span of three hours before we lost conditions (strong wind vs tide) and decided to call it a day. Seems like mostly resident bass around right now. I expect some bigger fish will move into our area this coming week.

Don't mind the smiley faces. One of my crew called out sick from work (or he is secretly wanted by the FBI)...we may never know the truth!

Beautiful day....7.30am to 1pm on Sunday...almost no wind...outgoing tide ...water was stained with temps varying from 46 to almost 50 in afternoon...fish was scattered all over the flats...mostly trolling...not bad for the first trip this season..a lot people on the kayak around...10 bass with 2 keepers...all still swimming...thanks for the company, John L.

Short Video....note that the last bass was caught in 5 ft of water

nice catching gang.

Few reports...hit the back early last week and was able to pick out 5, with one at 28" all on the mag darter and then gave it a shot the night before the storm thinking the bite would be on, big fat skunk...wind had already picked up and the chop on the flats made it hard to wade out to where I needed to be, plus all the bunker and spearing took off. Tried a spot further in the back where, it was more sheltered but not a tap.

Hit a local stream and did some fly fishing yesterday morning, could only find one rainbow at around 15" but it was my biggest on this stream so was pretty happy with that.

I hit Gilliken's Sunday afternoon and this morning with clams and worms. Got a beautiful 20 incher on clams. I thought it would be a wonderful meal for the family but never even took a pic of it..just let him go right away...to be caught another day (I hope). I got my new tires buried in the soft sand. The new tread really digs at 22 lbs, so I went down to about 18 lbs and did fine. Just a beautiful day today

Packed up my gear and left home, it was 84 degrees. Arrived at parking lot at the Hook: 60 degrees. Geared up and hit the suds. It was 49 degrees and howling. No fish. Froze for an hour and drove home, where is was still 74 degrees. Took in the rest of the Mets game.

nice clean stripes on that JB wtg

Explored some new spots out back in moco late afternoon, skunked. Shallow mudflats, was hoping the warmer temps would wake some fish up. Throwing light jigheads with various plastics and small swimmers. You guys have any luck in mudflats in early spring? Any tips?
