more of the same today; glorious conditions; gray and a little drizzle; good NE wind and nice white water; schoolies and the occasional blue; locals think as long as the schoolies are around the big blues are still not here in numbers; blues arrive schoolies leave...not rocket science; throwing basic single hook metals and a white teaser with teaser taking 90% of the fish; back at it early tomorrow rain or shine

Way South Jersey today, a dozen short bass to 24" today on clam and one 33" blue on a bunker chunk.

Nice fish. And why not use the "honey" It works like it always has, I suspect. And so does my Harnell from the late 60's which will be in use in the RB area in a few more weeks

still lots of schoolies here but the big blues are here in greater numbers; major action in late afternoon with lots of action; my highlight was a really big blue that ran drag and worked me good; got him in wash and another one crashed in and bit me off;
guessing it was going for the teaser;

out in the kayak today rb...one fish on in the first 10 minutes out...two short runs and he was off and gone...then nothing for me all afternoon....saw fish caught and we marked them but they seemed to be very lethargic only responding to certain techniques....twenty lber was landed somewhere in the mix...my buddy got a few but nothing over 29 inches for him...overall though the fishing sucked today and was slow...seems to be getting worse as the days go on i have heard of blues in the bay during the week but nothing consistent and have not seen anything happen in shallow water...bite probably went off an hour after i got out of the water

Fished RB with two other kayakers from 6.30 until until 2pm.
Our mistake was that we launched on Staten Island side and found no fish there...then paddled all the way over to Keansburg side, fished there for 2 hours and then returned to Princess bay...what a waste of time crossing the bay for hour and half each way...did not encounter and fish during our 3 hour trip...at the end it was worth it...marked a lot fish on NJ side but they were very picky...ended up catching two keepers at 32" and 29"....both on them on 6oz mojo
I must say that it was really frustrating to mark so much fish with so little to catch...I did not bother to circle around marked fish ...I would just keep going and the fish finder would be showing more of those arches...and all that in 10-15ft of water...after low tide the bite died and move elsewhere

Went to my hometown over the weekend for some freshwater action, needed a bend in the rod after my last couple outings. Hit Penns Creek with the fly rod for some natives, pulled in 3 browns and a couple suckers, good Hendrickson hatch going on. Lost a much larger fish, probably in the 18" range, took a sharp turn and broke me off before I could loosen my finger. Sunday morning went to a local pond just to soak some worms and relax and to my surprise pulled in this slob. Took about 15 to 20 minutes to land him on my little 5 foot. Sad that one of my favorite ponds from my childhood is pretty much devoid of life, since the property is abandoned, the old owners used to make sure the bluegills and bass were thriving in it and I remember when this carp was added, must be pushing 20 years ago.

Anyway, back to the salt this week, hopefully my luck will change.

wowza.... nice carp!

only been to Penns once and it rocked! Was there during a trico spinner fall that, once it went off, caused the place to go nuts with those beautiful browns.

Good fishing on a quick afternoon trip last Thursday, we had 10 keepers up to 25# casting plugs and swim shads.

We kept two of the smaller fish and released all the bigger fish.

You guys are in better shape than me I got tired just reading that.

Did you launch from Lemon Creek? Fish have been more active at night (at least close to shore)
