The SB is at fever pitch around here. My wife went shopping this AM and there was no room to park and everybody is wearing Patriots gear. Its carnival but that is because they expect the Pats to win. What if they lose?

True, they pretty much all had players that did that at one point or another.

But given the social dynamic of the super bowl, "rooting" is just for this one game, and it wont be for the Pats.

I sat in the upper deck, east end zone of Franklin Field to see the Eagles win the 1960 championship against Vince Lombardi and the Pack. I will be sitting in my FROG watching them win this one. I'm sorry that I will miss Chuck Bednarik playing every snap on both sides of the ball, center and middle linebacker, and don't think any of these guys today would make a hair on his butt for toughness BUT the birds got it going on and I think they can make things tough for Brady.

It will be good to see this NFL season end and I really hope we don't see the BS with MLB that we have seen with these overpaid morons on the sidelines.

The Vegas odds say Pats up by five. Both teams injuries are at at a low so both will be on their A game. It should be an interesting and entertaining game.

no one in their heart of hearts really believe that the Pats will lose, except part of eagles' nation.

that said, the majority are still ROOTING for the gulls.

Pitt is asking why they didn't have this crew officiating for them

Great game, BB got outcoached even with the sketchy TD (in spite of Collingsworth remarks LOL... big "controversy" now LOL : https://www.theringer.com/nfl-playof...ls-al-michaels)

For me, there were 2 TD breaks for the eagles:

1. the receiver may not have had a clean catch, but the Pat defender blocked every replay angle so that the call could not be overturned
2. that one where the receiver didn't have control of the ball before both feet touched in bounds.

The third was clearly what the officials called, the receiver turned into a runner and broke the plane, in spite of the announcers. In fact, Pitt should have gotten that same call in their game a few weeks ago.

But that said, having Foles catch that TD pass was an "in your face Belichik" move if I ever saw one and that alone was why I am glad the Gulls beat the Evil Empire

The Pats got to the SB on a lot of revised calls over the season. This game the calls went the other way. The rules, "control" for example, are too capricious. Still, I feel sorry for the people in my region who cared. People at our party were all but crying when the game was over.

I'm sure there will be discussion about that "control" rule over the offseason.

I don't feel sorry for sports fans when their team loses, just like I don't feel elated when "their" team wins...it's part of being a fan IMO, take the good with the bad.

Now, if it was *my* team....that's a different story

Chuck, you still on that? So, the Pats lost the SB. Isn't that enough for you??? What stinks more than sour grapes? But I know how you feel because a person can get tired of always losing. Makes me think about all the years the NY Yankees pissed on the Red Sox. We all know the Eagles won, even if it was by a bobbling receiver tripping and "recatching"-- recontrolling the control -- his crossing of the goal line. Admittedly, it was refreshing to see a call against the Pats for a change.
