CC Canal
Just returned home to the Jersey shore from a week's vacation on the Cape. Did all my fishing at the CC Canal. First off, everyone I met or encountered while fishing were extremely friendly and especially helpful. Having my bicycle along made canvasing the canal for bait or surface breaking fish a lot easier. For the most part I saw a fair amount of bait as well as stripers being caught. Amongst the shorts I caught in particular two fish I landed and released stood out. A 29" striper caught using a motor oil colored 9" sluggo and a 36" striper on a popper. Loads of fun and anxiously await a return trip.

Re: CC Canal
Nice, I always wanted to fish the ditch but, it seems so intimidating, to find a place.

Re: CC Canal
Just got back from a 2 day trip to the canal. It's def a trip worth taking. I'll be heading back for sure. Managed 4 bass to 31 lbs in the 2 mornings I fished. Great time and a great experience. I did manage to blow up my Legend on a cast though . All fish taken on pencils. Nothing like watching a big girl explode on your pencil. 33hemi!

Re: CC Canal
Sounds like there are mostly jersey guys on this forum talking about the canal. Don't let em all thru the canal. Want to see some hanging out on the Vineyard in a week or two!

Re: CC Canal
Quick canal tip, learn to jig at night if you want large. You'll avoid the crowds and have a much better show of a bass larger than 30#.
Hemi, the weekend after the 8th me and two others caught 10 over 30# 99% at night when no one was looking.

Re: CC Canal
What's the latest on the ditch? I'm running out to Chicago this weekend ( that's a long drive!) but thinking of attending college reunion in back bay on the 8th. Sorta thinking of swinging by the canal on the way up. Hmmm... need to figure out when the tide runs.
