Default And the Dawn Cape Up Like Thunder....

We have been fishing and doing pretty well east and west of Cotuit for a couple weeks now and figured we had the fish figured out pretty well. The plan for this morning was to get to that UDL while it was still dark to take advantage of that calm on the water before sunrise.

We got there with the wind piping SW at a cold 25-30 MPH and pretty choppy seas near shore. Figuring the wind would die down before long, we set up and trolled along the shore in about 5-7 ft. and took three nice fish in pretty short order.

That was the plan. However, after the third fish the wind had hiked up to about 35 with higher gusts that blew the whitecaps off the top of the waves and the seas began to hammer us. We stuck it out for an hour and a few fish more then headed for the barn. Hell, if we wanted to fish like that, we could have done it any day in April.

Breakfast was the high point of the day.
