I've been looking for somewhere with deep water but haven't found it yet.

Deep water is not a factor. It is finding the schools of bait. Look over some of the old posts using the find option on the main page, type in "shore cod" - also in the ask frank section.

Since you asked, a "hot spot" close to you with deeper water is halibut point in rockport. But shore cod are RARE and your best bet is the outer cape beaches, or from a boat instead. 99% of shore caught cod are too short to be legal. Pollock, on the other hand, do not have a size restriction, and you can fish for them in the day. Cod are NIGHT only from shore.
