hit the bay this morning for a while. got down there about 11am. fish were all over the place. smaller fish earlier in the day, but by 12:30 ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!!

a good (and i crap you not!) 2 miles long & say maybe 1 mile deep of bluefish invaded the raritan. basically wherever you looked in the bay you would see pods of blues working & jumping out of the water.

here's the stange part...all of a sudden, you would see a stretch of water roughly 1/4 of a mile long that would all get extrememly nervous all of a sudden. it was the type of situation where ever time i looked up & saw it my jaw would drop to the ground in amazement.it wasnt like it was blues "blitzing" bait, or eratic splashing or even baitfish jumping out of the water it looked almost like the ocean floor was about to submerge! honestly, ive seen alot of bluefish blitzes before but NOTHING like this, when i pointed it out to the guy next to me he simply stated "oh my god"... anyone know what or why this was?? was it just an "influx" of bluefish just going berzerk @ the same time or was there something underneath them to make it look like that. it always happened simutaneously & ALWAYS was streched out across the whole beach. tried bouncing some jigs underneath & the guy next to me was chunking bunker but i didnt see anything else come up besides blues. earlier in the day were "cocktails" & once the water starting moving out "taylor" sized fish moved in.

metal single hooked hopkins WITHOUT tails was my preference. they were going nuts for poppers too but it was definitely a big pain in the arse to get trebles out rather than a single hook

hope this helps some of you guys looking to get into some action after work & what not!
