Thumbs up Re: Yankees..dadadada

So nice to see Posada clinch for the Yankees last night and he damn well better make the playoff roster or else!

I'm a Yankee fan and I''m still trying to figure out how they have the best record in the AL with a dysfunctional starting rotation. The answer of course is hitting.....

In the postseason, as the story goes, everything changes and pitching is the key factor. We don't know yet who they will face in the Division Series, Detroit would be better than Texas. Of course Verlander is a factor but he's just one pitcher on an average staff. To be honest the AL Central Division teams just rolled over in August and basically just mailed it in, especially the White Sox and Twins. On the other hand I still recall the 1976 Cincinnati Reds "Big Red Machine" having to go 7 games to win the World Series against the Red Sox because of Louis Tiant. The Big Red Machine was like the 1998 Yankees.

Texas pitching staff looks mediocre but they can put lefties on the mound which would affect Granderson and Cano and like the Yankees they can hit.

Don't see any of the possible AL Wild Card team, Red Sox, Tampa Bay or Angels advancing in the ALDS. Sox can hit but pitching is horrible, Rays and Angels have good pitching but can't hit.

The Phillies have to be the favorite to get into and win the World Series. I have MLB On Demand on cable and MLB.TV Internet so I can watch 5 games at the same time. I've watched a lot of Phillies games, they are the real deal! Their only weakness is they have a number of lefty batters, Howard, Utley, Brown, Ibanez, Orr. That won't mean anything if they face the Yankees but Texas would give them problems.

I dont want to see Texas at all, but other than that expect to get to, and then lose to, the Phillies in the WS.

I'm not a huge Jorge fan, but seriously... he needs to be on the PS Roster. Hope Girardi sees the light and keeps him on there.

I'm with you, don't like any professional sports team in the entire big mouth Republic of Texas! I can say that because I lived in Dallas for 5 years.

We enjoyed living there and most of my friends were normal native Texans, it's the "new" and the "noveau riche," Texans I found totally obnoxious.

My brothers ex is one of those noveau rich-wannabe's ... especially after they moved there to the no-fault-divorce state and split with half his $$.

She was an obnoxious douglas-college educated feminist... I have *no* idea why in the world my brother married her in the first place... thankfully he now has a gem with his current wife of many years.

He worked for Texas Instruments and lived in (Lubbock, if I recall?) in the Dallas area.

I can't stand the Texas team, don't like Ryan... and want no part of them in playoffs.

LUBBOCK IS IN WEST TEXAS, SOUTH OF AMARILLO (PANHANDLE REGION), 300 MILES FROM DALLAS. MAP HERE
MOST TX INST OPERATIONS WERE IN RICHARDSON, A SUBURB OF DALLAS

Jorge is on the roster... heard Sabathia #1, #4 . Nova #2 and #5. Was still a tossup for the other game.

AJ's been trying... just haven't heard yet. He has had such a rocky up and down season it's no lock that he's #3.

can put the other guys in the pen. the key to AJ is have the long relievers ready and pull him when you know he's imploding

One guy who won't be on the roster is Scott Proctor! 14 innings and he throws a gopher ball for a 3 run homer.

The problem with Burnett is that when he loses it, it happens fast, the inning blows up, out of control with X number of runs before a reliever can be brought in. Even then the reliever has to deal with 2 or 3 men left on base by Burnett.

In his last 10 appearances his ERA is 7.66 and gotten worse with each start! IP=51.2, Hits=74, ER=44. He also leads the pitching staff in for most runs allowed this season. Even Colon's last 10 stats are better and Freddy Garcia's stats are much better.

Let's not forget that Burnett is either #1 or #2 in the AL in giving up Home Runs. 31 !

Pitching wise we're entering the ALDS with weak pitching. If we meet Detroit first let's just hope that their lousy pitching staff (except Verlander) continues to be lousy and Yankee batters go to town.

I would put Garcia in the 3 slot in the ALDS and I don't want to see Hector Noesi, in relief, not even in the freaking stadium selling hot dogs.

Yes, of course it was Scott Proctor again with his gopher ball.
