Default What's in Barnegat Bay in the Winter?

Does anyone care to comment on what goes on in the bay between now and when the water starts to warm up? What are the winter populations?

I'm pretty sure I could go out and rake some clams if I feel I absolutely need to go out and try to catch something.

Also, do dogfish stay active in the ocean through the winter? They might be worth dunking some frozen clams for if we get a nice day.

Thanks!

Smaller bass will be around but your going to have to work hard for them.

Clamming is always fun and they don't disappear in the cold water.

Some of the inlet rivers by you and north will hold winter flounder over the winter. Try worms on the shallow flats on sunny days.

If you get asked I would say...."testing new lures to see how they swim"
