Now I just have to find my way to the water at a time and pace to try it.
One more question: what size float do you favor?
I have been using the six inch float with a 10 1/2 foot salmon rod. The long rod has the ability to keep the line off the breakers and the rig floating without line drag.

Bill,
I was out today in that area. No one I know has seen them yet. I do know they have arrived in the Marthas Vineyard area. There is plenty of bay anchovies and spearing in the Hook area.....so any day now.

Funny about the albies, with all the bonito and spanish macs around this year. Thought they might have traveled together, at least some.

Guys thanks for the Albie update; I was new to them last year so I was looking for some idea about when to expect them; leave for FL in mid-Oct so I'm hoping for a shot at them before I leave

Speaking of Albies...
Can anyone recommend a good enough (not real expensive) 8 to 10 foot spinning rod to attach to my Penn Evict 5000 reel?

Joe I would strongly recommend a black hole Suzuki 10? rated 1/2-2oz. I caught 25 lb bass and 16lb blues with this rod

Moco Dawn patrol. I was out front with a medium East wind a on a dropping tide. The water was clouded and contained debris of a varied sort, but mostly weeds and branches. Several sweepers were avoided. The swell was building by noon, 15 fluke on the casting gear and the slip float. Two at 18 that are still swimming. Back at it tomorrow God willing!
