Moco,
Outfront 3p-6p Incoming tide with a strong east wind and waist high breakers with high frequency. I was using the slip float near some rocks and caught three flat ones, one at 19 inches. I could see mullet struggling to maintain their southerly direction as the wave sets became stronger. The water was becoming brown and as the wind increased along came the rain and I called it a day.

Moco 3P-7p. Hard east wind and conditions out front, is I swung ti the back. Mullet everywhere and blowing up as the sun was setting. I observed 2 pound blues on them and numerous fluke going airborne giving chase. I lost count of the short fluke I caught after ten.

Moco Outfront. Dawn patrol. East wind and an incoming tide. I was live lining mullet on the slip float. Three fat 17 inch flat ones were caught that are still swimming. Early on I had a good run on a take down but couldn't turn the fish before becoming unbuttoned. All quiet at the high tide hour, with happy swim bait all around.

CMC outfront this morning...ocean still churning but managed one short fluke and a snapper on a bucktail with gulp. Had a few tail bite-offs too. WInd should die down today and get warmer for the weekend. I was shivering this morning.

Moco Outfront 3p-8p Ebb tide to incoming. South wind with chest high to overhead swell. I was live lining mullet with the slip float. The 11 foot salmon rod was needed to keep the line off the swell and dragging the float into the wash.
A dozen 3 pound blues, three fluke and a 15 inch weakfish.

The mullet, bay anchovies, and peanuts were everywhere in the back, and being pursued relentlessly by snappers and Taylor blues as best as I could tell.

It is slow, I venture that the gamefish are all well fed.

CMC yesterday outgoing tide was only productive with foot long blue fish. Got skunked this morning at low tide but a beautiful sunrise. Awful quiet out there now.

Moco Out front at the top of the high 1P to 6P. The swell was fishable with the west wind, but as the tide dropped the waves built until they were 10 footers. Even at the low tide mark at 6pm the swell was running the surf up over the high water mark. Water was brown with a tan foam on top. There was a strong incoming current from south to north, Managed 3 short fluke and called it a day. Time to clean the round reels and switch over to the fly rod. I had twenty flat keepers this season, with far too many shorts. Big fluke were just not within my grasp more than once this year.

I gave the flat ones one last try today. One short, not a good year for me. I?am glad the pain and suffering of this fluke season is over. Now to concentrate on the striped ones, hopefully the fall will be a mirror of the spring.

Moco Outrfont 8P- 10p. Low tide to incoming. The swell dropped compared to yesterday. I used spinning gear and a mag darter and concentrated my casts in close trying one last time for a large flat one. Managed a 4 pound blue, a 16 inch fluke and a personal best monster 6 lb stargazer.
Good riddance to this year's fluke season. As Bay says lets hope the big striped ones show up.
