Default At least the weather cooperated...

...during my first trip back to OBX in 20+ years. Can't say as much for the fishing though. The B&T's cleaned up selling bait to feed the woefully undersized species that the surf had to offer. Snapper Blues, Pompano, Spot, Puppies and Reds, Skates and Rays.....even went out on a Head Boat, Captain had to head back as more than half the patrons were doing the technicolor yawn and the bite was nearly non-existent.

The highlight of the entire week was witnessing the razing of the old Hatteras Village water tower. On our way back from Ocracoke, my brother and I came upon a gathering of folks just staring into space...what the...
We hung out for an hour and a half and waited for the torch man to do his thing, and with a tug on the cables, down she came.

Despite the lack of decent fishing, it was still good to just be there.
