Billy you dug the subject up. Harvey makes about 6-7 hundred K w/ the METS , WHAT A DEAL !
Can the Mets give Harvey a ten year deal ? this year ? if so let the kid throw his way to the playoffs & gamble w/ his arm Then he is secure to have a good career & family life . If I were Harvey's dad or agent HE would be done @ 180 innings. Cause after this year He can / will be potentially a very 200 million dollar man !
It's all in the agent, I can tell you stories about this baseball business , They give CUBAN players multi million $$ deals who never set foot in the Bigs ! & they make our home grown go thru the system for peanuts .

The Yankee loss did not spoil the sunny day BBQ Lamb Chops & brew .What a day !

Harvey is locked into a contract for three more years. A bargain for a team looking for a pitcher. Just sayin'. One month of good baseball every eight years and now this comes up. I don't notice Meadowlark Colon backing down from a playoff appearance.

Colon makes about 9 million per/ with the Mets , His contract days are behind him , which he really made a very vey good career , He already had A 50 game rip for steriod use , I think the Mets need him more than he needs the Mets . They traded Tom Seaver didn't they

You play for the name on the back of the uniform not the front .

While true, the book on young players not yet under big contract is to sign them to a mega deal early. If they want an 8 year deal, you want to give that to them when they are still young. Harvey is in a slightly weaker position coming off surgery and if he were offered a commensurate 8-10 year deal at this stage of life, he should take it.

Boras, on the other hand, is a thieving tool who may or may not get the best overall deal for his players, but who represents that he does.

after today's game the post game showed David Wright talking in length to Matt Harvey , Don't know what was said . The Mets are high on staying in the race & Wright is the face / Capt. of the now Mets ...but Wright has a contract extention of over 138 million ( 8 year ) not including endorsements ( 20 million from Vitamin Water alone to name one ) ..if I was Harvey in one ear & out the other ...You got yours now its my turn .

Word association game: Strasburg, Nationals, Mets

Mets are facing the Dodgers in Round 1, hope they bring their bats for
games 2 and 3, because they ain't scoring in games 1 and 4.

After yesterday game it's obvious the Bombers have problems in the pen w/ almost 20 pitchers still using the same two or three arms this might be a major stretch issue .

Yanks definitely have issues, very inconsistent, and Joey will go with whoever he has, and whoever is hot, should they make the playoffs and get past the 1 game play-in they are likely to be faced with.

oh my what another game; down 7-1; Nats are assuming the win; not so fast boys, we aren't done yet...the pinch home run comes off Papelbon; so nice; and the Mets bullpen has been terrific last 2 games; and win with a double play for last outs; and don't think Harper has a hit in last 2 games; if DeGrom is sharp tonite this could end it....but I'm aware that there are still 23 games to go

Last night game showed me that #33 & this pitching staff has to be tested, the mental game from which Harvey had to face from the last few days of the media might be an indication how immature he might be under pressure , on the other had it shows how strong the pen is w/ clutch hitting from this no die line up .

one hopes that Harvey learns from this; just saw him on an ESPN talk fest and all he would discuss was the need to focus on the race and move to the Series; lets hope he grows up and learns; last night's poor effort might be a chance for him to pause and think....lets win tonite...big performance from Jake D

Harvey can go jump in a lake....tied to Boras and a refrigerator....

Must be tough, knowing you are locked up for three more years only making 600k, while you status as a number 1 starter fades to DeGrom. Then you see Thor and Matz and realize you are special but just not here and the real money isnt coming from NY, you are damaged goods and the others are not....they will use you for three years....or two and a half and trade you for a pile of prospects on July 31 2018...

Yeah Clayton will bring his 5+ ERA in the post season to the table...

And are you sure the Dodgers are scoring in 1 and 4?
