Default Fly for Mackerel

I'm in the 2006 Boston Striper Shootout this year and I'm going to use Mackerel for bait. I want to catch these Macks on my fly rod. Any tips or suggestions on Pattern, line, technique would be appreciated.

Never tried it. My understanding is that Boston Macks are a deep-water fish.

Yeh, I'll be dumping some frozen chum, sometimes you can get them in the slick, I was thinking maybe I'll put some tungston beads ahead of a size one epoxie fly, strip it in the chum slick...just an idea.
