I'm starting to get worried that we have too much bait.

I came across hundreds of "happy" bunker pods last year before finding the few that had fish on them.

It's going to be another year of burning a lot of gas $

Had an osprey fly over my head at Atlantic Highlands with a fish in it's talons. Came off the bay as I was walking the dog and it was a sight to see.....finally a sign of something moving in the bay! I know the fish are already there just too slow to chase a fly or lure but bait......go get em!

But are they more likely resident fish, rather than the migrating ones? I can't image with the kind of winter that we've had that they have gotten up here that quickly or at least in any numbers.

I would definitely say resi bass.....With that said there can be some decent sized residents cruising around...A little more warmth and they'll start getting active...I'm with JB wayyyyy to much bait last year with very few pods that had fish on them...I hope that's not the trend this spring

Went to the hook this evening. Knew it was way too early in the season for lures, but i have a new rod i wanted to try out.

Not a tap. Didn't see any bait. Did see two seals working the inside of the rip.

Nice to get outside.

Nice looking work Hemi, but ya gotta be careful cause it's crack.......teaser crack. I'm worried about my Cuz. He's been sending pics of his work to me for weeks now. Beautiful work too. But more and more almost every day. When I asked him if he sleeps at night he said he tries......but he dreams of colors and patterns and once he said "I CAN'T STOP". If he starts making excuses for not pounding the sand......Naahhhhhh.......that ain't gonna happen

Hemi, they look sweet I would fish the crap out of them. And you have just the right amount of hair on them IMO!

Try it you don't need much to get started but beware it is very addicting! We are putting BayYaker into a TA (teaser's anonymous) support group.

Before you know it you will have a supply of 5,000 teasers/bucktails. Worst of all is you will fish the same three all year long.

I started playing around with a new color scheme last night. I'm thinking white bucktail with black thread will look killer on these. I'm open to suggestions - experimenting is half the fun!

truer words have never been spoken. with me its plugs and rods. once you get the bug its over you will never be the same.

First let me say that I used the same three teasers last year, two olive/white and one black/purple, and no problem catching on them. John got me started tying I think I am up to 175, just shoot me now. I'll see if I can put together some pics of johns teachings. My wife wants to know who this guy John is, she wants to stick my vise where the sun don't shine.
