I bet its parrot. Im stocked up too..

the nice thing about salty's needles is that they wiggle so nicely. They're balanced enough to cast like a missle, but light enough to wiggle along the surface like a sand eel sipping air along the surface. And the clearcoat on those plugs is bullet proof.

Well the biggest was a 35 pounder on a Parrot
The second biggest was a 32 pounder caught on
Electric Chartreuse not made anymore.

I have done alot better on the habs stubby needle than the 2oz.

Dj enjoy the lure thanks for the order. 1-2 seconds with a headlamp is all that is required. Not siren lit up just softly. Cast it, get tight, few cranks and some pauses. It will drop back in a zig zag pattern if you do that. Mix it up a bunch and be real erratic they work best that way. Another way I like to fish those is on a sandy bottom let them sink all the way and twitch them off the bottom. Looks just like a emergent sand-eel.

I've taken big fish on these with a dead stick retrieve, and working them similar to a pencil popper also. It's a pretty versatile lure.

Last year was $9 needle year, we did black/red eyes and all white at the shows. Never know what I got up my sleeve this year

Funny you mention that Bob, I was thinking the same thing. Can you say Hijack? You go back to the beginning of the thread and someone asks about needlefish and We're discussing them. I propose a color pattern Olive over cream and all of a sudden they are a "Trade-mark!" come off it.

I did really good up that way last year with with the Habs 2 oz. blurple, and I am (as always) looking for something a little better or to give me a little edge. When I saw that metalic-like finish on the Bugger, I could see that thing being able to pick up any and all ambient light, which as you know on the black of the new moon is very little, if any.

What is the electric chartruse??? Like a metallic chart. or chart. sparkle?

Salty and Armand...will you guys be at the RISSA show? If so I will stop by. I'll be up there for a couple days.

Yes this year I will be manning my booth for the entire time. For the last couple years I was bouncing back and forth between my booth and doing seminars but I get a break this year. Please come by and introduce yourself. It's alwayse a ball putting a face to a name. You'd be amazed at how many people go through the New England Show in Providence. I'll also be giving anyone who mentions the pages I sponsor like "Striper-Surf" a discount on lures if they mention the web page.

Edit...And the TRADEMARK comment was for two things I am WELL known for. GLOW EYES AND THE GOLD STRIPE on my lures. If there is something I'm MISSING then I can't help that. I am the only one that I have ever seen using these products on wood lures commercially.I'll be at Wildwood Outfitters next weekend, Saltwater Edge the week after (if my surgery goes well), and both RISAA and MSBA.

Take care guys there's 1700 lures waiting for me today.

Sorry DJ I missed that. Electric Chartreuse is a color I came up with while experimenting a few years ago. That's silver belly, chartreuse sides, electric blue back, red beard...and some of the Salty's secret sauce mixed in.

That's a 9 color plug and I'm not doing them anymore because of the time it takes to do them. I may do a quick run of them this summer as there has been a pretty good demand for them though. It has a very nice hue change in the water and as Bob will tell you works very well.

Yes on being at the RISAA show, booth 600/601 as always. You won't be able to shake my hand though. I'll be able to wave hi good
