I have no spots. I have a few freckles or moles maybe but that's about it.

I thought I had spots once but it was Chicken Pox.

If I was to burn one, I think I would use a combination of Turpentine and those styrofoam shipping peanuts in a jar with a gasoline soaked rag as a fuse.

Kind of like home made napalm.

Number5,
My spots were found by reading the info on beach structure found here.Plus a lot of info from my son who got me back into surffishing after a long lay off.Though I found my "spots" on my own, many others know where they are,and though I might bust people about "burning my spot",I'm sure they know how to read the beach and find them.BTW,my favorite spot is gone from last year, due to the action of nature.I did a some searching, and found another nearby. Will it be crowded when the fish start hitting?Probably, and there is nothing you can do about it,and its not always from internet searchers.

I know the sites rule because specific spots are always posted.

I posted the rules of the site set forth by BobD. It's an opinion poll so there is no right answer. If you actually read my previous posts you'd see my opinion is that I do not agree with specific loactions in reports, but that's just my opinion. I didn't edit anyone's posts or call someone a spot-burner...just alluded to the fact that the Spot-Wars season would start soon. I figured if we had the official word on the matter then we could put the bickering to rest or atleast continue with the discussion civilly.

Since the official word sanctions specific spots, everyone play nice.

Black spots have a little spot behind the head,
If you see one Spot Fish you see a lot.
We get spots in our casting nets late summer and early fall by the dozens, good for fluke bait, live line those little spotters, catch a Nice Fluke or striper, or bluefish. fishing !

See spot run, when that mullet net is comming.
See spot not saved .LOL

I noticed the majority of posts on this thread are from NJ fishermen. I haven't fished in NJ but it looks like "spot-burning" is a bigger problem there than other places.

I think if I had to put up with big crowds I'd be very reluctant to share specific information with people I didn't know. Any spot information worth having is twice as sweet if you come by it through hard work and observation.

we are all smart people, well most of us. we know where to fish, we know what to look for when we are looking for a good SPOT to fish and so. I THINK NOW WE SHOULD BE CONCERNED WITH OUR RIGHTS TO BEACH ACCESS. The heck with spots. LETS FIND A BEACH WHERE WE ARE GRANTED SPOTS. NJ still has access and just about anywhere if you follow the rules on locating the fish, you will be successful. I feel sorry for the folks up in N.E esp Conn. They have trouble finding SPOTS because their restricted. SO STOP WORRYING ABOUT YOUR SPOTS OR NOT AND WORRY ABOUT WHAT MAY BE HAPPENING TO BEACH ACCESS, FISH, BE FRIENDS, TELL YOUR FRIENDS, DON'T TELL YOUR FRIENDS. WHAT EVER, JUST FISH FOR GODS SAKES WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!..

Thats a real good point, but many anglers like you don't know the areas here, sooooooo I post my spots and My husband and my hard work observation.
We spend many hours on the beach , every chance we get to fish, we very seldon fish the same place, when I post my reports, our spots are taken, I'm happy to see other anglers catch fish in my spot,we go fine another hole, fish it and if we catch fish, I spot burn it on my fishing web.
My web, my fishing is all done by hobby and enjoyment, so far any way .
If you sign up on the New Jersey Forum on this site, when we catch fish I post it , where , on what and when .
So if your do come to Jersey to fish . you'll catch fish if their here .
Good Luck to you.
It's not as bad as it sounds in South Jersey.
Fishing is a sport and not a money making one, well for Homer and I anyway . .. LOL
The main and important thing is we all get along and try to help one another enjoy the fantastic, beautiful sport.
