Yesterday 10/17/03 I sliced my thumb open on a clam shell. Yes my casting thumb. It didn't stop me from fishing although every time I cast my whole body tightend up from the pain and I bleed anoughter 5 mins.

Liquid Band-aid. This stuff will seal it and you wont have to worry about the water.

Old ladies around here turned us on to a sewing item, it is elastic around the back, and thin leather on the front. the leather rides along the spool when casting ant your thumb wont get worn out.

sounds feminine but it works, and thats what matters, cause salt in a cut can make fishing unpleasant
