Default "new" braid/mono knot

Was turned on to this knot by a fellow angler. Only did a brief test tying it, but seems like it might be my "go-to" braid-mono connection knot.

It's actually two knots as you need to make a double running line with your braid via a Spider Hitch http://www.leadertec.com/tipsandtech...ts_spider.html

or a Bimini Twist http://www.leadertec.com/tipsandtech...ts_Bimini.html

Never really tied these knots but fairly simple. Directions are a bit vague, but you should get the hang of it quickly...

Next comes the connection knot, the Yucatan knot http://www.leadertec.com/tipsandtech...s_yucatan.html

Maybe give it some real world testing this weekend.

Of course the uni-to-uni is still quick and easy, but a bit of a thick profile.

The Alberto knot is my favorite but a few of the thinner braids I've started using don't seem to care for it much, so been using a double-strand blood, which is working but this Yucatan knot might just be excellent for everything.

I'm using the Spider hitch/Yukatan on my Tuna set ups .I think that there's a write up on the Yucatan knot in Saltwater Mag . I find the Yuc. easier to tie than a Bristol knot . To me the Spider is easier than the Bimini to tie .

Spider Hitch is easier but supposedly not as strong as the Bimini.
